Face of the Day with Revlon Raspberry Colorburst

I thought I'd go for something a little different today. After a couple of weeks of subtle lip colours, I thought it was high time I cracked open something a bit bolder. I went for Revlon Colorburst in Raspberry and then kept everything else quite simple. I made a little attempt at winging my eyeliner out too. Please excuse the visible grey hairs, I have to wait a week or so before I can colour it and they're really noticable after the colour stripping.

Illamasqua light foundation in 135 (a sample that I'm trying out)
MAC Select Moisturecover concealer in NW20 undereyes
MAC Studio Finish concealer NC20 on blemishes
MAC Cubic blusher
My usual Shu H9 pencil on brows

Laura Mercier Sateen eyeshadow in Sable applied as a wash of colour with a blending brush
RBR Raven Glaze Lacquer Liner
Lancome Hypnose mascara

Raspberry Colourburst
I like the Colorburst lipstick formula and I have tried a few different colours now. Raspberry is a lovely shade, it's quite a Snow White colour on my pale skin and the fine shimmer in it gives a lovely sheen. Like the other Colorbursts, it's comfortable to wear, lasts reasonably well and at £7.99 they're not badly priced,

  1. Lovely colour on you, seriously sexy combined with the eye liner and the specs! Will be very interested to hear about the Illamsqua light as this is next on my list to try! x

  2. Do do do do do....I'm lovin it! Next time though do a close up of your winged liner so I can see what you've done. Mine always ends up looking like Amy Winehouse!

  3. Very nice colour, I love those lippies, I keep meaning to grab a couple more!

  4. You look very classy! :)

  5. What a gorgeous red! Suits you to a T

The Revlon colorbursts are pretty impressive in terms of pigmentation and texture for a drug store lippy. I'm loving Coral at the moment.

  6. This look really suits you Jane! There's something about that lipstick colour I really like on you :)

  7. I think the look doesn't quite work but it's a veeery long way from disaster :)
Personally, when it all goes wrong, first I swear and wail, then try to blend the worst offenders using powder or neutral shadow, and then sulk for the rest of the day. Clever strategy!

  8. @Debbie: Thank you, It’s fun to keep the specs on sometimes! I’m not sure about the Illamasqua light yet. It really is super light coverage more like s tinted moisturiser yet it feels like a cream on application. I feel like I might need more coverage.

@Skin Scrubs: I promise to take a close up next time. I wasn’t sure it was close-up picture perfect this time but I did like how it turned out.

@Charlie: Thank you, I really like the colour. I do think these are great lipsticks for the price, especially if you go for a 3 for 2 offer. I wear the Blush you sent me quite often too.

    @Ki: Thank you!

@Jen: Thank you. I agree, I think these are really great for the price. I wonder if I ought to give Coral a try? I wonder if it would be a less bright version of the colour I wore yesterday?

@dempss: Thank you, I really like it. I find with the Colorbursts that I don’t mind taking a risk with the colours so much.

@Nina: You foxed me here Nina as I was looking for this comment on the other post! This was my experiment that went well. Is it this look you’re not sure of or the bright coral? You are not alone in the sulking either as someone else mentioned the same thing. I do find it makes me grumpy when I get it wrong!

    Thanks for your comments,
    Jane x

  9. I adore the way this looks on you!!!
And finally another Colorburst being mentioned, besides Soft Nude, lol! ;)
This reminds me of Viva Glam Cyndi (that I don't own), does anyone on here know if they run similar?

  10. Gorgeous!! I feel like if I lightened my brows a bit I could pull off these colors a little better... perhaps I'll do an experiment!

  11. I am going to by this color after seeing your lip swatches. Looks awesome on you along with the blush you are wearing <3
