My Interview Face

I had a job interview today, obviously part of the getting ready ritual involved deciding what make up would be appropriate. I was going for professional without being too dour.

I took these pictures once I had returned. It was at that point that I realised I was actually sporting a Berlin Wall mini fringe. I thought I had tamed it before I went out but it seems to have been very stubborn.

Lancome Teint Miracle
RMK Super Basic Liquid Concealer
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage
Shu Uemura H9 Seal Brown brow pencil
MAC Cubic blusher

Too Faces Shadow Insurance
Guerlain Rue de Passy palette

Hourglass Film Noir mascara

Edward Bess Secret Desire

I'm very pleased to say that I got a call back this afternoon and I got the job! It's only casual work but I'm excited all the same. Thanks to Secret Desire and Rue de Passy for the parts they played!

  1. And you'd never think this was the evil face of someone who slaps crying students hahahaha! Sorry could't resist ;P You look lovely x Forgot to say you are the new addition to my special 'most read' blogroll so I hope it brings you a few more followers cos you deserve them x

  2. That's fantastic news well done. You look great too, really groomed and professional xx

  3. Hi Sarah! I know, it looks like butter wouldn't melt but we know different ;). Thank you so much for adding me lovely lady, I feel very honoured.

Hi Nicoletta, thank you. I'm sure it's going to be strange going back to work but as it's quite casual, I think it should be an good way to ease myself back in.

    Thanks PeachBellini!

    Jane x

  4. You are a one women style revivalist!!! Bring back the Berlin Wall (NB. hairstyle not the actual wall) LOL

Congratulations!!!! They obviously recognised talent when they saw it! :)

  5. Oh, that's great, congratulations!
How do you like the Secret Camouflage? I thought I would like it more than I actually do, so I'm still searching for *the* concealer.

  6. Congratulations Jane! I will be trying to emulate your look when I go to London in Jan, interview skills are a bit rusty though! X

  7. Congratulations Jane! I really like the soft coloured eyes contrasted with the dark lashes.

  8. Congratulations, I'm so pleased for you, it will be nice to have something that is your own thing if you know what I mean.
Beautiful look, you make me wonder if I should have got Rue de Passy, have you seen their spring offerings, the quad and blusher look nice x

  9. Congratulations on the new job! Great color choices :)

  10. Wow,you really know how to pull a look together! Congrats on getting the job too! What a talent you are xx

  11. Well done. Your eye shadow is especially lovely.

  12. Well, is it any wonder you got the job????? :-)))
    Congrats again Jane, well done!
    Nina x

  13. Oooh, congratulations!!!! That's great news!
And I 'm sure that this lovely look contributed to the success! ;)

  14. @Ms. Wedgie: Thank you. No doubt the hairstyle made me look “Down with the kids”! ;)

@Klara: Thank you! Oddly enough I like the colour match of SC best of all. It is a little dry in consistency and definitely not *the one* for me either. The search goes on!

@Lipstick Luvvie: Thank you. My interview skills were very rusty too but I did some reading up before hand to help calm my nerves. I had a few answers to questions prepared in advance. I hope it goes well for you in Jan :)

@Meeta: Thank you. It’s the Film Noir again, it really needs replacing now but I desperately eeking it out!

@Replica: Thank you, it will be nice to have something of my own and be a grown up for a bit. I do like Rue de Passy, despite me moans it’s a palette I reach for often for a soft look. I’ve seen the spring collection and think the blusher looks lovely. The quad is pretty but I’m not sure I could use the colours. No doubt I’ll change my mind when the time comes ;)

@Makeup Magpie: Thank you, glad you like the colours.

@dempss01: What a lovely thing to say *blush*. Mostly I struggle with putting colours together but I feel I’m getting better with practice. I need to start practicing my “pens down” lines too!

    @Simone: Thank you :)

@Nina: Aw, thank you. Thank you for the support too, I did as I was told and made sure I went to bed early :). How’s the writing going?

@Tina: Thank you. The make up definitely made me feel more confident on the day. Despite my nerves, I managed to re-apply lippie before going in for my interview ;)

Thanks for the lovely comments, you’re all so kind,
    Jane x
