Lilac Allure Part II: The Suqqual!

I used the Suqqu eyeshadow palette and lipgloss today and managed to get some OK photos of the make up on. I tried again to get some swatch pictures but the colours are really very subtle and sheer so it's quite awkward. I may need to try a shadow primer to see if that helps.

Anyway here are the photos.

No foundation - I must get some tinted moisturiser
MAC Select Moisturecover in NW20 undereye
MAC Studio Finish in NC20
NARS Loose powder in Eden
Shu Uemura H9 Seal Brown eyebrow pencil
MAC Warm Soul (wrong choice!)

Suqqu Lilac Allure eye palette
Champagne colour all over lid up to brow bone
Blackened plum in the crease
Lilac over plum in the crease to soften
White as highlight
MAC Miss Fortune pearlglide to line
Suqqu mini mascara from set

The mauve gloss

I think you can probably see from the photos that all the colours apart from the crease colour are very subtle. The light shades all have quite a lot of shimmer so I think next time I'll will use the palette in combination with mattes. I feel a bit too old to pull off lots of shimmer. Having said that, I do feel it creates a very pretty, soft look. I may also try to copy the smokey eye look from the promo pics. I tried the eyeshadow brush from the eye palette and rather than the usual afterthought it's excellent quality and so soft. It's done nothing to dampen desire for a full size brush!

I hope this has been helpful in letting you see the colours in action.

  1. Like you say the shades are subtle but it does create a very pretty fresh effect.

    I really like it.

  2. You look gorgeous here, lovely shades.

  3. Your so gorgeous hun & i cant believe yout not wearing any foundation! Your skin is flawless :)

    Very nice!

  4. Thanks Fee, I felt very feminine in these shades and it was perfect for sunny day.

Thanks Primp and Preen for such a nice comment.

Hi Sinead, thank you my darling. The combination of the Oil of Olay radiance moisturiser I mentioned in May my favourites with the NARS powder made a nice finished. I'd like to find a good tinted moisturiser but for now I think the combination is ok and I don't feel too naked!

  5. Really fresh and pretty, I love it!

  6. Thanks Anita, I'm pleased you like it x

  7. Really pretty look! I am very tempted by that set, although I seem to have spent my money this month already, not good considering we are barely into the month!
I wonder if its worth me trying that Shu pencil, that colour looks really natural on you and I'm always finding the ones aimed at blonde hair too warm, need all the help I can get with my sad little brows :)

  8. Hi Replica,
I really like the Shu pencil, all the others pencils I've tried look so wrong but this is perfect. I remember someone that commented on Grace's post that they were blond and found it a good colour for their brows. I think it's definitely worth a try.

By the way, did you know that some of your RBR posts have been added to the RBR Facebook page. I had a random google earlier and found one of yours and one of mine. I had no idea!

  9. This looks lovely on you - it suits your colouring perfectly, and is so fresh and pretty. I find Suqqu eyeshadows translate better on the lids than they do in swatches sometimes.

A bit off topic, but I'm envious of your eye colour. I love almost ice-blue eyes.

  10. Hi Grace,
I think you're right about the skin v eye swatching, I think it's much easier to the colours by wearing them. I'm pleased you like it and thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of this set!

You know, I once had a boyfriend that described my eyes as dish-water grey. I like your description so much better, it has made my day! :)

As another aside, did you know about all the linkage to RBR posts to Facebook? I've spotted links to your posts too.

  11. Hi Jane,

I'll add the Shu to my scary makeup want list :)
Yes, did know about the RBR linkage as I had emailed them about ingredients and when they replied they told me, its a good idea and nice to be able to see all the other blogs with RBR fans.

  12. Yes, do add the Shu to your list! Thank you so much Grace for being an enabler on the pencil it really is exactly what I'd hoped. Natural and impossible to over do.

I loved the RBR page and wish I'd found it before. I really need to go through it and check out the other blogs.
